January 1, 2020 marked the beginning of a new decade that many looked at with so much optimism. But even before the year approached it half way point, i’m sure many started wondering if the year could get any worse. Following strings of wild fires, airplane crashes in pakistan and iran, the painful death of basketball legend kobe bryant, social unrest over the killing of George floyd by the police(i thought they were supposed to protect lives? ), various natural disasters and all these are under the cloud of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID- 19).
A lot of people definitely planned and expected big things from 2020, and i must tell you to some extent, it has lived to the hype but probably in the way most people never expected. First off there were signs of a war outbreak between usa and iran, wild fires and apocalyptic scenes, kobe’s death then the coronavirus pandemic began to sweep the world- wrecking havoc and killing more than 400,000 people as of early june and even more.
Honestly we all have good reasons to get angry. You know we stopped watching football and enjoying some shows for some months…. I know that felt like the end of the world for some people but nevertheless we moved on. Some of us even drew plans on how to become multi millionaires, to acquire a lot of things but now some don’t even remember those plans anymore..
So here’s the big question; Are we to blame nature or ourselves?… Or we should not have given 2020 the hype we gave it?… To be straightforward I don’t have the foggiest idea, the entire thing isn’t logical, this moment everybody is making arrangements for 2020, the following moment everybody is considering how to conceal to get shielded from things happening. I just wish there was a bail option out of this year to 2021 already.
We could only hope that the second half of 2020 we are about entering doesn’t get worse than the first and i’m sure everyone agrees with me on this. Maybe 2020 is a trial year?…. lol… who knows?.
Here’s a chance to describe 2020 … come on go ahead.
